VIA FERRATAS

The via ferratas we present unfold like threads of adventure from our Rifugio. In this section, we invite you to explore intricate vertical paths, immersing yourself in routes that weave through majestic rocks and breathtaking landscapes. 

VIA FERRATA TISSI

Established in 1938, this route is a challenging via ferrata, both in terms of elevation gain and technical difficulty. Starting from Rifugio Vazzoler, follow trail 560 until crossing a stream. From there, leave the trail for path 558 until reaching Van Delle Sasse. Follow the signs for 'Ferrata Tissi.'

After completing the via ferrata, a 15-minute hike awaits to reach Rifugio Torrani. 

Elevation Gain: 1,537m to Torrani, 1,769m to the summit of Civetta 

Length: 7.1km to Torrani, 7.6km to the summit of Civetta 

Timing: 4.30h to Torrani + 30' for the summit 

VIA FERRATA FIAMME GIALLE

The Fiamme Gialle via ferrata at Pelsa, inaugurated in 1980, is a demanding adventure along the western walls of Palazza Alta, a majestic peak reaching 2,255 meters. This extensive and challenging route is tailored for experienced hikers in excellent physical condition. Conveniently, both at the start and finish, there are options for both an easier and a more challenging variant. 

Bastiani, Via Ferrata, and Return to Bastiani 

Elevation Gain:
1375 m total (950 m of via ferrata)
 

Length:
12.8 km
 

Approach: 1 hour from Bastiani, find it on Google Maps 

Timing:
6.45 hours (1 hour approach + 3.30 hours via ferrata + 1.30 hours to Rifugio Vazzoler + 45 minutes to Rif Cap. Trieste)  

Descent:
Follow trail 562 until the intersection with trail 560, continue towards Rif. Tissi but veer towards Bivacco col Mandro. Descend to Colaz and then to Bastiani. 

Start it Bastiani, Via Ferrata, Vazzoler, Capanna Trieste, and Return to Bastiani (by car or bus from Listolade)

Timing:
9 hours (1 hour approach + 3.30 hours via ferrata + 2.15 hours to Bivacco Col Mandro + 1.45 hours to Colaz + 30 minutes to Bastiani)   

Descent:
To descend from the Fiamme Gialle via ferrata, follow trail no. 562 towards Malghe di Pelsa until intersecting with 560. From there, continue towards Rifugio Vazzoler (1.30 hours) and then to Capanna Trieste (45 minutes), where you can leave the second car. Alternatively, go to Listolade (1 hour from Cap. Trieste), take the bus back to Cencenighe, and then return to Bastiani.
